If we want to make our advancement work easier, we can lift up the importance of ourselves.
If we want to raise more money, we can lift up the importance of donors.
And, if we want to change the world, we can lift up the important of our cause.
Making ourselves and our donors feel good or important should never be our ultimate aspiration. But, when we and our donors lift up the importance of helping others, those outcomes come along, too.
We are at our best when we focus ourselves and everyone else on the bigger cause.
It’s not about the helpers. It’s about the cause of helping others.
