The fairly effective professional plans, implements, and follows-up with a motivation to respond and react to the audience. Whatever the audience wants dictates their work.
The ineffective professional plans, implements, and follows-up with a motivation to serve their own interests. Whatever they want (which is typically translated into, ‘whatever is easiest for me’) dictates their work.
The problem isn’t that we all can, at times, find ourselves in each of these motivational groups.
The problem is that we tend to rate our motivations as more pure and positive while rating the motivations of others with more skepticism and negativity.
