When we become so busy there isn’t a time to learn, we are too busy.
When we become so busy there isn’t time to read, we are too busy.
When we become so busy there isn’t time to relax, we are too busy.
When we become so busy there isn’t time to plan, we are too busy.
When we become so busy there isn’t time to exercise, we are too busy.
When we become so busy there isn’t time to sleep, we are too busy.
When we become so busy there isn’t time to reflect, we are too busy.
Of course, life brings us into different seasons. Some seasons are so busy we can’t seem to find ways to make time for our own health and wellness. We have other responsibilities that, momentarily, take precedent.
But, longer term and more consistently, if we are so busy that our personal betterment and welfare are routinely sacrificed, we won’t be effective.
And, more than that, we won’t have any more time.
Taking care of ourselves is not an egocentric personality flaw. It’s a strategy for long-term productivity.
