2 Types of Meetings

Posted on May 31, 2023May 31, 2023 by Jason McNeal
  1. Collaborative Meetings.  These meetings are designed to brainstorm together, to collectively create, to “bounce ideas off of each other.”  The purpose of these meetings is to involve others in the idea formation process.
  2. Responsive Meetings.  These meetings are designed to react to a proposal, to refine an idea, to improve a plan.  The purpose of these meetings is to involve others in the idea refinement process.

The point isn’t to choose one meeting type over the other.  Each are helpful and valuable when implemented thoughtfully.

The point is to recognize which meeting you need to hold and to be self-aware enough to know which meeting you prefer.
