We choose whether we serve others or ourselves.
We choose whether we are positive or critical.
We choose whether we speak up or stay silent.
We choose whether we take responsibility or pass the buck.
We choose whether we are enthusiastic or apathetic.
We choose whether we are accountable or check a box.
We choose whether we show up or step back.
We choose whether we build up or tear down.
We choose whether we are encouraging or unresponsive.
We choose whether we engage or dismiss when a bid for our attention is made.
We choose whether we use the cause to motivate us or our own interests.
We choose our attitude.
Each of us will engage differently with these choices. And some choices are more difficult for us than others depending on the circumstances or seasons of our lives.
But, no matter how difficult, they remain our choices alone.
